Degree Recognition in India (UGC, AIU, and Government Exams)
Woolf is a European-accredited higher education institution. Our degrees are globally recognized and carry standard ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits, allowing for global mobility.
However, because the regulatory framework in India is highly specific, it is important to understand exactly how your European degree functions within the Indian system.
Valid for Corporate Employment & Private Sector
Yes. Your Woolf degree is fully valid for employment in the private sector in India. Top multinational corporations, tech companies, and private enterprises globally recognize and value European-accredited degrees.
Indian Government Exams (UPSC, etc.)
No. If your primary goal is to use this degree to sit for Indian government employment exams (such as the UPSC), this program is not suitable.
The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) evaluates foreign degrees for equivalence in India. Under their current guidelines, the AIU does not issue equivalence certificates for online foreign degrees. Without AIU equivalence, the degree cannot be used for strict Indian government positions.
Traditional Indian Ph.D. Programs
If you are planning to use your Woolf Master's degree to apply for a Ph.D. program at a traditional, strictly-regulated Indian university under the purview of the UGC (University Grants Commission), you may face rejection due to the AIU equivalence policy mentioned above.
However, if you are applying for a Ph.D. in Europe, the US, or at institutions that recognize ECTS credits, your degree is fully evaluated under standard international protocols (such as WES evaluation).
Note: If you enrolled through one of our Indian partner colleges (e.g., Scaler, UpGrad, AlmaBetter), please ensure your career goals align with the international nature of this degree.
