Admissions at Woolf
Woolf provides three pathways to help students access accredited higher education programs, ensuring flexibility and inclusivity for a diverse range of applicants. Each pathway caters to specific eligibility scenarios, from standard admissions based on prior qualifications to alternative routes such as Performance-Based Admission (PBA) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Overview of Admission Pathways
1. Standard Admission
Standard Admission is the primary route for students who meet conventional eligibility requirements. Applicants must submit evidence of completing a degree one EQF level below the degree they are applying for. For example:
A Bachelor's degree (EQF Level 6) is required for admission to a Master's program (EQF Level 7).
Upon verification, Woolf issues an unconditional full admission letter, finalizing enrollment.
2. Performance-Based Admission (PBA)
PBA is designed for students who lack formal qualifications or cannot provide sufficient evidence of prior learning. This pathway offers conditional enrollment, allowing students to demonstrate their academic potential by meeting specific performance criteria.
Requirements to Transition to Full Matriculation:
Complete either 200 hours of coursework or 20% of the degree program workload, whichever is lesser.
Maintain a GPA of 80% or higher.
PBA provides an opportunity for students to gain full matriculation based on current academic achievements rather than past qualifications.
Example:
A student whose highest completed qualification is below a Bachelor’s degree (EQF Level 6), or whose Bachelor’s degree is still in progress, can still be admitted to a Master’s program (EQF Level 7) if they demonstrate sufficient recent academic success.
Learn more in our PBA documentation.
3. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
If students do not meet the Standard Admission requirements but have several years of relevant work experience, they may apply through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Example:
The student’s highest qualification is below a Bachelor’s degree (EQF Level 6) or their Bachelor’s degree is unfinished, but they wish to use their work experience to apply for admission to a Master’s program (EQF Level 7).

General FAQs About Woolf Admissions
What are the three admission pathways at Woolf?
Standard Admission: Based on prior qualifications.
PBA: Focuses on academic performance during the program.
RPL: Evaluates life and professional experiences for direct admission.
How do I know which pathway applies to me?
Your admission pathway depends on your qualifications and background:
Standard Admission applies if you meet eligibility requirements with prior education.
PBA applies if you lack conventional qualifications but wish to prove your potential.
RPL applies if your life and professional experiences provide equivalent learning.
Are there any fees associated with RPL or PBA?
Yes:
RPL Assessment Fee: $200 for manual review of your eligibility.
No additional fee is required for enrollment under PBA.
Can I switch pathways after admission?
Yes, PBA students can request a manual RPL review at any time. If approved, they can transition to full matriculation without completing PBA requirements.
Will my degree indicate the admission pathway?
No, Woolf degrees are fully accredited and hold equal value regardless of the admission pathway.
What happens if I fail to meet the criteria for my pathway?
PBA: If you do not meet the GPA or workload requirements, you remain non-matriculated, and your completed coursework will not count for credit. You can continue to improve your GPA or apply for RPL.
RPL: If rejected, you can continue on the PBA pathway or reapply with additional evidence.
